Live from Cologne, it’s Jackie Strike
Cologne, Germany, 4 July 2000 - Jackie Strike celebrated Independence Day in Cologne, Germany,
underlining the international flair of her online campaign. At her first live appearance in
Germany, she delivered her ‘State of the Campaign’ address. Appearing before the international
press,
Jackie’s "State of the Campaign" address announced her online campaign and called for
world-wide participation in a new political platform on the internet.
"The future of democracy is digital" proclaimed Mrs Strike. "On this day, July 4th
1776, our forefathers called for a revolution... Today, we are doing virtually the same." Due
to the current low levels of public interest in the US presidential race, Jackie’s online campaign
"couldn’t come at a better time". Her site intends to inform and involve, making
politics accessible and appetizing. Jackie wants to get voters involved.
Mrs Strike thanked her official corporate sponsors, the 'Jackie for President Ltd' joint venture
of noDNA AG,
Boettcher Hinrichs AG, and
Web Pilots AG. With the addition of partner
kiwilogic.com AG,
the Strike movement has gained momentum. Jackie announced that additional partners will soon be named.
Jackie took kindly to CNN Berlin Bureau Chief, Christopher Burns, who questioned Jackie about her
policy positions, her past and her future aims. Following the conference, Jackie commented,
"Answering [Mr Burns] questions was both a challenge and a pleasure. This is just the kind of
political dialogue that I am encouraging in my campaign." Asking not to be quoted (but we’re
doing it anyway), Jackie then commented, "He’s my kinda dude."
