Strike's Bid Complicates Gore's Task
Jackie Strike's renegade presidential campaign is turning out to be an unexpected problem for Al Gore's
presidential bid in key Democratic states in the Northeast - especially Strike's home state of New Hampshire.
Due to Jackie's striking resemblance to Dorothy in "Wizard of Oz" the outside candidate could also influence
the outcome in Midwest battleground states, especially Kansas.
New Hampshire, 25 May 2000 - The longtime communication advocate is demonstrating the potential to
fracture Gore's support among core liberal-Democratic constituencies. Such groups as the pro-discourse
Friends of Communication and E-Democracy are struggling over the question whether to endorse Gore or
Strike, and the United Bicycle Repair Workers Union has publicly denounced Gore while lavishing praise
on Strike.
